What we do
We are working cross country
The Pan-African Farmers’ Organisation (PAFO) works across the continent to empower farmers through capacity building, policy advocacy, and sustainable agricultural practices. We bring together farmers’ organisations, researchers, and policy makers to foster resilient and productive agri-food systems through farmer-led innovation and research.
What we do for farmers with special needs
Farmer-led-seed systems
We support sustainable and profitable models for seed production and distribution led by farmers’ organisations. This includes technical training, access to markets, and facilitation of finance for seed producers across Africa.
Education
Organizing webinars, workshops, and training programs that bring together diverse stakeholders to share knowledge on agroecology, climate-smart agriculture, and innovative farming practices.
Basic amenities
Facilitating access to essential resources including finance through cooperative models, quality seeds, agricultural tools, and connecting farmers to distribution channels and markets.
Training
Providing comprehensive technical training in entrepreneurship, seed selection, agroecological methods, quality assurance, and management tools to strengthen farmer organization capacities.
Public outreach
Advocating for supportive policy frameworks that recognize and empower farmer-managed seed systems, promoting farmers’ rights to save, exchange, and commercialize their seeds.
