INNOVATION SERIES

The Innovation Series was implemented through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PAFO and COLEACP to strengthen agricultural value chains across Africa. The initiative aimed to improve food security, enhance food safety standards, and promote better nutrition by supporting actors within the agricultural sector.

Running from 2020 to 2023, the three-year program focused on building the capacity of suppliers and processors, particularly smallholder actors in Africa. Through targeted support, the project encouraged more efficient, sustainable, and inclusive business practices across value chains.

By aligning production and processing practices with domestic, regional, and international market requirements, the Innovation Series contributed to increasing the availability of affordable, safe, and nutritious food. The initiative also strengthened the competitiveness of African agribusinesses, enabling them to operate more effectively within evolving market systems.

Funded by COLEACP, the program was successfully completed in 2023, leaving behind strengthened value chains and improved market readiness among participating stakeholders.
