The Farmers Organizations in Research and Innovation (FORI Project) is a specialized initiative funded by AgriCord with a duration spanning from 2023 to June 2026. The project has achieved significant milestones in the field of sustainable agriculture, including the collection of five agroecological best practices and the completion of a comprehensive study on the impact of agroecology on African agriculture. To facilitate learning and engagement, the project organized a dedicated knowledge management event and utilized various communication tools to disseminate vital agroecology information to its members.
In the realm of policy and strategy, the initiative has successfully produced a position paper for policy advocacy, a continental advocacy strategy, and a policy brief. Furthermore, the project conducted a specific study and developed a position paper focusing on the potential of farmer organizations in agroecology, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities within the sector. As the project moves toward its conclusion, key future actions will center on the widespread dissemination of the strategy and study, as well as the organization of a series of webinars to further share findings and engage stakeholders.
